One song + one little girl + one Blackberry = One 911 call

Somewhere in Oklahoma, a little girl and her mommy are singing a very happy tune.
It's not Wheels on the Bus and it isn't even Old MacDonald. The only lyrics to this one are "911 green, 911 green," and unlike most silly songs 3-year olds and their parents rock out to, these words are full of critical instruction that helped the girl get help for her mother.
Madelyn Eaves' mother made up the simple song to teach her daughter how to dial and then send an emergency call herself on a Blackberry. Diagnosed with a fainting condition and pregnant, the mom from Oklahoma knew she'd need her preschool-aged daughter's help if she lost consciousness even briefly.
Although she'd only learned the song the week before, Madelyn put the lyrics into action, calling emergency workers when her mother fainted. She was also able to give enough identifying information to lead the dispatcher and ambulance to her house.
The song was an upgrade from the original lyrics of "green green green," which connected Madelyn to the previous caller on the phone during her mother's previous fainting spell. The new song, it seems, is a little more keyed in to this mother-daughter pair's needs and just shows how smart simple can be.
